SEPA issues new Position Statement

Posted: 16 May, 2012. Written by David

SEPA has revised its position on the classification of outputs from AD processes. This has been amended to include the use of off spec and unused batches of alcohol and alcoholic beverages that are covered under EWC code 16 03 05 (including those that are hazardous waste). The current ADQP, which forms the basis of the SEPA list of acceptable wastes, allows alcoholic drinks unsuitable for consumption or processing under EWC code 02 07 04 but this code does not include those alcoholic beverages that are hazardous in nature, usually due to their flammability. To ensure that the maximum benefit can be obtained from all of this waste stream SEPA have added this additional waste type to their list of acceptable wastes.

The revised position is attached below. It is also available on the SEPA website
