Alliance Technical Laboratories (ATL) based in Suffolk have become appointed to provide laboratory testing under the Biofertilsier Certification Scheme (BCS). ATL are the third lab to become appointed under the scheme however they are the first to be appointed using the new appointment process developed by REAL, initially for the Compost Certification Scheme but now adapted for the BCS.
As part of the appointment process ATL preformed inter-laboratory trials on digestates and also underwent an initial assessment audit at their laboratories. As part of our new process for appointing and monitoring laboratories ATL will be audited on an annual basis to ensure they maintain the standards expected. This appointment provides operators with a greater choice for testing services and also provides greater capacity for the scheme has a whole.
