BCS cost benefit analysis 2017-2018

Posted: 19 March, 2018. Written by Georgia

We have recently published a document on our website presenting an indication of the costs associated with certification of digestates to renew product status and average costs of deployment of waste digestates under waste management regulations. This cost-benefit analysis document can be found here.

We sourced the information for our waste calculations from several industry consultants/specialists, the environmental regulators' websites, and an independent consultant verified the waste calculations externally. The Organics Recycling Group (ORG) of the Renewable Energy Association (REA) supported this initiative and we received good feedback from the members of our Technical Advisory Committee.

We will review this document in response to the consultation outcome of the Environment Agency's Strategic Review of Charges.
