Biofertiliser Certification Mark

PAS110

REAL's biofertiliser certification mark is only allowed to be used by digestate producers who hold a valid certificate under REAL's Biofertiliser Certification Scheme.

The BCS now issues four separate conformity marks, one for each UK nation. Each mark is awarded to producers who achieve certification to PAS 110, the BCS Scheme Rules, and the relevant national end-of-waste framework:

England – Anaerobic Digestate Resource Framework (ADRF)

Northern Ireland – Anaerobic Digestion Quality Protocol (ADQP)

Scotland – SEPA Regulatory Position Statement

Wales – Anaerobic Digestion Quality Protocol (ADQP)

Digestate carrying a national conformity mark can be supplied, stored, and used as ‘products’ (without waste regulatory controls) in the nation for which the mark has been awarded.

More information on use of the certification mark can be found in the BCS scheme Rules, available here.

If you need an electronic version of the certification mark, please send a request to oliver@realschemes.org.uk.
