REAL's biofertiliser certification mark is only allowed to be used by digestate producers who hold a valid certificate under REAL's Biofertiliser Certification Scheme.
The first version, shown underneath this paragraph, is awarded to compost producers who achieve certification to PAS 110 and REAL's Biofertiliser Certification Scheme Rules. Only producers of 'non-waste' digestate are permitted to join the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme in this certification category.
The second version, shown in the middle, is awarded to digestate producers who achieve certification to PAS 110, the Anaerobic Digestate Quality Protocol, and REAL’s Biofertiliser Certification Scheme Rules. Digestates that carry this version of the certification mark can be supplied, stored and used as ‘products’ (without waste regulatory controls) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The third version, shown on the right hand side, is awarded to digestate producers who achieve certification to PAS 110, SEPA’s Regulatory Position Statement for Digestate, and REAL’s Biofertiliser Certification Scheme Rules. Digestates that carry this version of the certification mark can be supplied, stored and used as ‘products’ (without waste regulatory controls) in Scotland.
If you need an electronic version of the certification mark, please send a request to info@realschemes.org.uk.
